1. About these terms

These terms apply to everyone who visits, books a party or hires the venue at Happy Hippos Playcentre and Cafe, 1924 Princes Hwy, Clayton VIC 3168, Australia. By entering the centre or making a booking you agree to them.

2. Bookings

• Party and private hire bookings are requests until our team confirms the date and time with you.
• A booking is only held once the deposit has been paid.
• Party packages cover a group of 8 children. Extra children are $27.90 each, including food and entry.
• Please give us final numbers, food choices and any dietary requirements at least 7 days before the party.
• Date or time changes are subject to availability. We will always try to move your booking rather than lose it.

3. Payments

• A $100 deposit is required to secure a party booking.
• Party packages start at $279 for our most popular rooms and $369 for premium rooms.
• The balance, plus any extras added on the day, is payable at the centre before you leave.
• We accept cash, EFTPOS and credit card. Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST.
• Prices, packages and menu items may change; the price confirmed on your booking is the price you pay.

4. Cancellations and refunds

• Cancel 14 days or more before your party and your deposit is refunded in full.
• Cancel between 7 and 14 days before and your deposit can be moved to a new date within 3 months.
• Cancel with less than 7 days' notice and the deposit is not refundable, as we have turned other families away for that slot.
• If we have to cancel or close for reasons outside our control, you will be offered a new date or a full refund of anything you have paid.
• Entry fees and prepaid items are not refundable once a child has entered the playground.

5. Party hire

• Party rooms are booked for 1.5 hours. Please arrive 10 minutes early so we can start on time.
• Outside food and drink is not permitted for parties, apart from a celebration cake, unless agreed with us in advance.
• Decorations are provided as part of your package. Customised decoration is available on request and may carry an extra cost.
• Confetti, piñatas, silly string, glitter and open flames (other than candles on the cake) are not permitted.
• Anything you bring in must be taken away with you at the end of your booking.

6. Private venue hire

• Private hire covers up to 100 people, including children over 1 year, for a 3-hour session with a 10-minute buffer for pack-up.
• You may bring your own food and drink for private hire. Alcohol is not permitted unless agreed with us in writing.
• Our staff remain on duty in the cafe area during your hire and will complete general housekeeping before pack-up.
• Extra hours, kitchen hire and dedicated cleaners are available at the rates shown on our Private Hire page.
• You are responsible for the behaviour of your guests and for any damage caused during your hire.

7. Venue rules

• Grip socks are compulsory for everyone in the playground and can be bought at reception for $5.50.
• Shoes, food and drink are not allowed in the play areas — please eat at the tables.
• Please respect the age zones; the toddler area is for under 3s only.
• No rough play, climbing up slides or throwing equipment.
• Children who are unwell should not attend, for the health of all our families.
• We may refuse entry or ask a group to leave if these rules are not followed.

8. Supervision

• Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times. Our staff are not childminders.
• One supervising adult must remain in the centre for the whole visit and stay contactable during parties.
• Party hosts run the games and food service; supervision of the children remains with parents and carers.
• Adults are responsible for making sure children use equipment suited to their age and ability.

9. Liability

• Play involves a level of risk. Visitors use the playground and equipment at their own risk.
• We take care to keep the centre safe and well maintained, and we carry public liability insurance.
• We are not responsible for loss or damage to personal belongings left at the centre.
• Nothing in these terms excludes any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
• Please report any accident or injury to a staff member before you leave.

10. Photos and privacy

We sometimes take photos at parties and events and may share them on our website or social media. Tell a staff member if you would prefer your child not to appear. How we handle your personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page at the time of your booking is the one that applies.
